I have the day off for MLK day and it’s cold and gloomy outside. Here is a picture of a pincushion I made to brighten things up! Smile
I’m trying to think of a good way to spend my day off. I could do something productive like laundry, finish up some painting, or clearing out the garage but all that seems like it is a waste of a day off since it technically involves work on my part.

I decided to teach myself how to crochet instead. I have one of those amigurumi books for awhile and was never successful making one of the cute little buggers. Probably because I don’t know how to crochet, I think it is a requirement that I just realized today. So after practicing for awhile I managed to teach myself enough to make a ball, it doesn’t seem like much but a ball seems to be the basis for most amigurumi figures. All I had was multi colored yarn so my bear is going to look like someone threw up some sherbet on it. Completed photos to follow later once my little guy is completed.
I, too, am crochet-challenged. I attempted to crochet a wig for a waldorf doll I made for my daughter and it was an EPIC FAIL. I had to call in a crochet-ing friend as a pinch hitter ( pinch crochet-er?) to help me get the job done (she did it herslef after her attempts to help me do it were also an EPIC FAIL.) Love the new little pincushion. So cute!
That pincushion is adorable. My little cactus loving (those are sagueros his favorite) would love something like that too.
Ahhh crocheting. I stunk at crocheting for many years until a couple of years ago after I learned to knit for the millionth time it actually stuck. I’m not stellar but can get by with some of the basic stitches. Although I hear that amigurimi are very addictive.
